Automotive significance

The 849 Testarossa combined a heavily revised twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors and brought the Testarossa name back into Ferrari’s contemporary road-car range. The historical name reference reaches beyond the 1984 Testarossa to earlier Ferrari racing engines and cars using 'Testa Rossa' terminology. Project Apex therefore presents the naming as a revived heritage reference rather than implying the 2025 car is a direct continuation of the 1980s model architecture.
