Automotive significance

The Daytona SP3 reinterpreted Ferrari’s 1960s sports-prototype heritage rather than reproducing a historical car. Its name directly referenced Ferrari’s 1–2–3 finish at Daytona in 1967, while its naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 produced 840 cv. The model demonstrated how Ferrari’s Icona programme could use historical design and racing themes as starting points for new limited-series road cars without becoming a continuation-car programme.
