The FXX Opens Ferrari’s XX Client-Development Programme

2005 — Finali Mondiali, Mugello

Ferrari unveiled the FXX programme around the Enzo-derived, track-only FXX in 2005. Selected clients could drive the cars in a structured non-competitive programme while engineers collected data and feedback for future development.

Automotive significance

The XX concept created a category between road cars and homologated racing cars. The FXX was neither road legal nor designed for conventional competition; instead it functioned as an extreme track laboratory operated with Ferrari technical support and customer participation. Ferrari previewed the FXX in August 2005 and presented the programme at the Finali Mondiali at Mugello later that year, with organised programme activities beginning in 2006.
