Maranello Becomes the New Base

Late 1943

Enzo Ferrari moves his headquarters from Modena to Maranello in late 1943, establishing the location that remains Ferrari’s principal industrial home.

Automotive significance

The move was driven by wartime decentralisation but also created room for a larger operation. Municipal records show that planning for the Maranello site had already begun in late 1942, while Ferrari’s corporate filings date the headquarters move to late 1943. At this stage the facility belonged to the Auto Avio Costruzioni period: no Ferrari-badged production car had yet appeared.
