Automotive significance

Ferrari’s later account linked the black horse to First World War aviator Francesco Baracca and the Baracca family, with a yellow background added for Modena. Ferrari records that the emblem had appeared on a Scuderia motorcycle six days earlier; Spa is the firmly documented first appearance on the team’s cars, years before it became the badge of a Ferrari-built automobile.
