Automotive significance

Räikkönen entered the final round seven points behind championship leader Hamilton under the scoring system then in use. A Ferrari one-two in Brazil, with Räikkönen ahead of Felipe Massa, lifted the Finn to 110 points against 109 for both McLaren drivers. Ferrari was also awarded the 2007 Constructors’ Championship after McLaren’s exclusion from that competition, a separate regulatory context that Project Apex does not conflate with Räikkönen’s on-track drivers’ title.
