Automotive significance

The victory placed the Scuderia at the centre of one of Italy’s defining road races. The official Mille Miglia roll of honour records Nuvolari and Compagnoni as winners in the 8C 2300, while contemporary reporting records a total time of 15 hours, 11 minutes and 50 seconds. The event is kept separate from Alfa Romeo’s corporate racing structure because the car was an Alfa Romeo even though the winning operation was Scuderia Ferrari.
