The Scuderia Makes Its Racing Debut

13 April 1930

Automotive significance

The unsuccessful debut is historically useful because it separates Scuderia Ferrari from Alfa Romeo’s factory effort: the overall 1930 Mille Miglia victory belonged to the official Alfa Romeo team, not to the newly formed Scuderia. Ferrari’s own organisation was still learning how to turn preparation, logistics and driver management into results.
